Talk about NFL highlights and disasters. | Playoffs Tomorrow Who Are You Routing For? | | This season is almost over. Tomorrows games will decide who goes to the Superbowl. You have the Steelers taking on the Ravens, and the Eagles taking on the Cardinals. I have to route for the Steelers or risk divorce, but I will secretly routing for the Eagles. So what about you?
| | What a Great Turnaround Season | | When I talk about the Miami Dolphins, I tell people that I was born a Miami Dolphin fan. I was born with a dolphin t-shirt on and had a big smile when the doctor delivered me and spanked me to start breathing. Well, now, I live in Atlanta, Georgia and have lived in Atlanta since 1970, six years after I was born in Miami. I still remember today when I was attending Highland Oaks Elementary and having a spaghetti dinner with the likes of Bob Griese, Mercury Morris and Larry Little. I remember the films that the Dolphins showed of their early years.I also remember 2007. What a horrible season. 1-16 for the Dolphins. This was so unheard of. Then, Bill Parcells, hired on as V.P. of Football Operations, comes aboard and wipes the slate clean. This year, 2008, the Miami Dolphins went 11-5, won the division and played in their first postseason game in the longest of times. WOW! They did lose against the Baltimore Ravens, yet, they had an exceptional turnaround year. The coach was the Coach of the Year, which is so highly deserved and Todd Pennington was the comeback player of the year. What a season! It can only get better.Congratulations to the Miami Dolphins for a great season... | |

My oldest is a volunteer so she will be working it. My youngest is bringing a friend. Mom will get some internet time, after I meet Poe, the Baltimore Ravens mascot. Then my youngest has gymnastics, so I will have dinner ready before we leave for everyone to heat up. While she is in gymnastics, I will run to Target and Michael's.Then to Rita's Italian Ice for something cool as a treat.Home to relax for the evening.
| | | Whose counting down the days until Opening Kick-off? | | I know I am!!! I actually put a countdown calendar on my blog!!!I might even be lucky enough to attend a home Baltimore Raven's game. Tickets are so hard to get. I have seen the Ravens play live back in 2004 when we played Philly but I want to see it in our house. My brother, the Philly fan, is trying to get tickets for us to see the Ravens. He's crazy and will be pay the outrageous prices but I won't. LOL | |
| | Football Season | | How many of you cannot wait for the NFL football season to start up? Who is your team you are rooting for this year? Mine are the PATRIOTS...Yep, the PATS rule the AFC EAST and will once again cinch it and make the play offs. Looking for them to take the SB this year as well.
Nothing like football season. I can't wait.
| | Take a seat! | | Just when you think you've seen it all, the NFL will show you something new. I mean, the New York Giants blowing a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter to the Titans? Things are starting to fall apart for that franchise, but I'll elaborate on that later. In this week's Six Points, I'll take a look at some victims and survivors during a Week 12 slate that gave us a few upsets, some shutouts and outstanding and terrible performances from players who figure to play key roles for Super Bowl contenders. THE GOOD Ravens offense
Even before coach Brian Billick took over the offensive play-calling, the question surrounding the Baltimore Ravens was their running game (114 yards in a victory over the Steelers). Would this unit provide enough production to complement a great defense? Well, the Ravens are giving the ball to Jamal Lewis and it's changed the complexion of that offense. As I've said before, by establishing the run, they've taken pressure off of Steve McNair. So now you wonder: If it's as simple as just giving Jamal Lewis and the other backs more carries, why couldn't former coordinator Jim Fassell implement that strategy? Well, we're starting to see...
| | Will the brawling off the field hurt the ravens? | | http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-feistyravens&prov=ap&type=lgnsand if you can't follow my link go to www.yahoo.com, and click on the sports tab, its one of their top stories today.Being that I live in Maryland, and having watched the Ravens falter many times after their first season SuperBowl win 9 years ago, man has it been that long since Baltimore got their own football team?>Nearly all 85 players in camp were involved in a squabble Saturday that began when offensive tackle Oniel Cousins and defensive tackle Amon Gordon threw punches after running back Allen Patrick was taken down hard on a burst up the middle. All the players surged toward the middle of the field, and it was nearly two minutes before peace was restored. <With the team under new coaching, its going to take people some getting used to new ways things are done, and at a time when stakes are high, it makes me wonder if there is not something that will get them to come together as team mates, I'm from Baltimore area, and I have long since given up on the Ravens having a winning season, and I have a hard time trying to imagine 85 men clearing a bench and what gets me is that it... | |
| | What is your greeting on your answering machine or cell phone? | | Right now mine just states our phone number and all our names. Depending on my mood or the time of the year, I change it. Past Christmas's I have had the girls sing or one year our message said something like this: "We are busy feeding Santa's reindeer please leave us a message".This past new year, I had a greeting that I was in a meeting with the Baltimore Ravens for a job interview as their new headcoach. That one got a lot of chuckles because all our friends know I am such a huge football fan.As you can tell I have fun doing this.So what have you ever recorded on your greeting?? | |
| | Brian Billick to be on TV now?? Or take another head coaching job....... | | So, the rumor is that Brian Billick will now be on television. Or do you think he will take another head coaching position somewhere else?? I haven't really heard anything about any offers for him yet or anything but you never know in this crazy world!
I think he would make a good commentator because he is rather cynical and to the point. But doesn't seem like everyone would just let him go without as much as ONE offer from A team.
Where would you like to see Billick end up.... or at least go next?
