Talk about NFL highlights and disasters. | Another Year Another New Offensive Coordiantor and Receiver | | What the 49ers miss, besides Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Merton Hanks, I could on, is stability. Since Norv Turner took off and went south to San Diego, the 49ers have had a revolving door at the Offensive Coordinator position. It's no wonder young QB Alex Smith never developed. Not to mention, his receive coor changed every year. This year they've added another new receiver, Brandon Jones.Last year it was Isaac Bruce and Bryant Johnson. Before that Antonio Bryant and others before that. How can a young team learn an offense and gel if there's constant change? This year the 49ers star anew on offense, let's hope they can build on this and return some stability to this once proud team who introduced the league to the West Coast Offense. We miss you Bill Walsh.
| | Foreclosure what are your Federal Rights!!! | | I have lots of friends who live in the States and two of them have already been Kicked off of their property by Countrywide and EMC. It's sad to hear stories of families displaced and dreams trampled by the circumstances of the American Economy today not to mention the sheer number of cases where people don't even know what to do and just give up.A friend of mine was saved from these circumstances by a Loan Officer they met a few months back, his name is Steve Young. They told me what things that this wonderful man has done to save them and that is why I am compelled to tell the story to you guys who have the same problems.A year ago when all of these Foreclosures started to escalate to confusion, Karen Roxas(Real name not disclosed for their safety.) of California who was my classmate in college here in the Philippines gave me a call one day out of the blue to tell her sad story. She said "Niel next month we're going to move to a small apartment, my parents have lost their jobs as nurses and now our house is getting taken by the bank. We have lived here for 2 years now, we don't want to leave..." Being a Filipino who has never been to the states I was confused of what she... | |
| | Have you ever met anyone famous? How did it go? | | I’ve had my run-in with a few people. I met Muhammad Ali when I was like, 7 or 8, he was signing autographs to promote an event and I got his autograph. That was awesome. Same for NFL Hall-of-Famer Steve Young, met him and got his autograph. I have had a lot of interactions at work. For instance, Pierce Brosnan came into the Starbucks I worked at once and we served him and his family some iced lattes. Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from Friends) also came into a different Starbucks in my district. Then, one morning, Jared from the Subway commercials came into our store… hahahawho have you met/seen/interacted with? How’d it go for you?

| | Dallas 38, Tampa Bay 10 | |
IRVING, Texas (AP) -- For a three-play stretch Thursday, Tony Romo looked like a guy making only his fifth start after 3 1/2 years on the bench. He threw low and inside on what could've been a long touchdown pass to Terry Glenn. On the next snap, he held the ball too long and got sacked. Then he came up short on a deep ball to a wide-open Terrell Owens. He hardly misfired again. Romo went on to throw five touchdown passes, tying a Dallas Cowboys record and leading them to an easy 38-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "I thought it was Aikman out there," Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden said.
Well, there was one difference: Troy Aikman needed overtime for the only five-TD game of his career. And Roger Staubach, the other Hall of Fame quarterback for the Cowboys, never did it. While it's tough to lump Romo in with those guys at this point in his career, it is no longer "ludicrous" to consider him being Pro Bowl-caliber, as coach Bill Parcells said earlier this week. The Cowboys are 7-4, with a half-game lead in the NFC East and the second-most wins in the conference behind Chicago (9-1), and Romo is a major reason for it. He's 4-1 as...
| | Garcia hopes to relive his success in San Francisco | |
Jeff Garcia has an impressive resume, playoff experience and great confidence. Sure, Garcia is no Donovan McNabb. But he's far from Bobby Hoying.
With McNabb out for the rest of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles are putting their playoff hopes on Garcia's arm and legs. The 36-year-old quarterback won some important games and went to three straight Pro Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers earlier in his career. "I think some people overlook that he's a highly talented quarterback," offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said Thursday. "He's a high-level athlete. He can move and groove. He's been very accurate throughout his career." Garcia is eager to prove his skills haven't diminished. "I've really kept up my physical health," he said. "I feel that my strength of arm, my speed of foot, they're all relatively the same as they were back then." While replacing a five-time Pro Bowl quarterback like McNabb is a difficult task, Garcia has performed well under pressure in the past. Playing in the shadows of Hall of Famers Steve Young and Joe Montana in San Francisco, Garcia had a lot of success in five years with the 49ers. In his first full year as a...
