Talk about NFL highlights and disasters.
Niners sign LB Navies, put Slaughter on IR
The San Francisco 49ers signed veteran linebacker Hannibal Navies and placed backup linebacker T.J. Slaughter on injured reserve Wednesday. Navies has played for Carolina, Green Bay and Cincinnati in his seven NFL seasons, starting 46 games. The Bengals waived him before training camp. He is expected to play immediately for the 49ers, who lost Slaughter to a torn tendon on his left ring finger in last Sunday's victory over Seattle. Slaughter was a key member of the 49ers' special-teams units.
how does everyone feel about the san francisco 49ers going to santa clara?
I personally hate the idea of moving teams, but at least the stadium will be worth it.
San Francisco 49ers win last game of year.
I am totally surprised that the 49ers won the last game of the year against Denver Broncos. I am a huge fan of the 49ers but I can honestly say I did not think they would beat the Broncos today. I am very happy with the 49ers this year. On to next year and I think they will have a playoff chance next year. What to you think?
How many years until the San Francisco 49ers make it to the playoffs
Okay all you 49ers fans and even those of you who aren't.How many more years do you think it will take for the 49ers to make it into the playoffs? to the Superbowl? Win the Superbowl?I think they will make it to the playoffs for the 2008 season.I think they will make it to and win the Superbowl in 2010.I think they are starting to get back on track and as soon ans they beaf up the offensive line and defense we will be in business. Alex Smith is growning and learning and I think he will be a great quarterback with a few more years experience under his belt.I would love to see them win the Superbowl again before they move out of San Francisco. What are your thoughts?
Michael Crabtree, Join us in The Real World
As a San Francisco 49ers fan, I watched the NFL draft his year, excited at the possibility of getting Crabtree with the #10 pick, even though the last time we took a receiver #10, JJ Stokes, it didn't turn out well. When we got Crabtree with the 10th pick, I was ecstatic. With the regular season just around the corner, Crabtree is still unsigned, the last of the 1st round picks not signed. Crabtree wants to be paid more then the #10 pick should be. Crabtree wants to be paid more then this years #9 pick and the 49ers say no way and I say ya. It doesn't matter if Crabtree thinks he is worth more then the 10th pick, that's where he was picked, live with it buddy. Maybe if he had a better attitude he would have been picked higher. I hope he doesn't sign. I hope he sits out the entire year. If he thinks he's going to be a top 10 pick in next years draft he's California dreaming. He should call Mike Williams another receiver who sat a year. To Williams credit it was ruled he wasn't elligible for the draft and having signed an agent he couldn't go back to school. Now Williams is out of the league. I'm not sure if Crabtree is smart enough to realize what he will loose if he...
Who's your favorite NFL team?
It's back-to-school time and that can only mean one thing: ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?! NFL pre-season games are in full swing and will be followed soon by the 16-week regular season, playoffs, and the SuperBowl. So the question of the hour is..who's your favorite NFL team? Which colors will you be wearing on Sunday? Who's name will you be chanting? What prospects do you think your team has this year? Are they the best team or the worst? Share! Cheer your team on! Tell us why your team is the team to root for this season!Oh, and by the way, did I mention 'GO SKINS!'.:) Yes, I'm a die-hard Redskins fan. I was born & bred 30 minutes south of Washington, D.C., so I can't help but root for the home team. While they still have some kinks to work out, they did much better last night against the Patriots and Campbell showed improvement in his playing ability. Let's just hope he carries that on into the regular season.:)
Are you a Sports Fanatic?
Can you consider yourself a sports fanatic? If so then prove it. Who is your favorite team and why? Any sport.
Who is your favorite NFL team?
I like the Washington Redskins, how about everyone else?
Another Year Another New Offensive Coordiantor and Receiver
What the 49ers miss, besides Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Merton Hanks, I could on, is stability. Since Norv Turner took off and went south to San Diego, the 49ers have had a revolving door at the Offensive Coordinator position. It's no wonder young QB Alex Smith never developed. Not to mention, his receive coor changed every year. This year they've added another new receiver, Brandon Jones.Last year it was Isaac Bruce and Bryant Johnson. Before that Antonio Bryant and others before that. How can a young team learn an offense and gel if there's constant change? This year the 49ers star anew on offense, let's hope they can build on this and return some stability to this once proud team who introduced the league to the West Coast Offense. We miss you Bill Walsh.
It's Come to This Chris Weinke Starting for the 49ers
In an already difficult season, one of the few bright spots Shaun Hill will be sidelined for the final game of the season.San Fran will be lead by CdhrisWeinke who signed with the club only a few weeks ago. It's disappointing that Shaun Hill winner of his two starts, doesnt' get a chance to finish the season. If Alex Smith struggles in his return as starter next season, there will be a QB controversy.
