Talk about NFL highlights and disasters.
Do you think Michael Vick should have been given a second chance?
I was discussing this with my brother. I am a very sporty person, I love basketball, football and any other sport. I am the type of person to support pro athletes even when they have done something very stupid and thoughtless, such as drinking and driving, having a gun in the club and dog fighting. My brother is a very hardcore biker, who likes football and loves dogs. We were arguing whether Michael Vick should or should not have been given a second chance at the NFL. I said yes everyone deserves a second chance, especially since many football players are given second chances when they have done something stupid. My brother said he should have been sent to prison longer and no second chance, because the dogs had no chose and he electrocuted and tortured dogs. I wanted to get other peoples opinions on this topic. Should Michael Vick been given a second chance in the NFL?
Michael Vick in week 3?
What do you think about Roger's call on letting Vick play as early as week 3 of the NFL season? Do you think he served his time and should be allowed to play or is he getting off easy?
Should Michael Vick be allowed to play in the NFL?
Yes, Michael served his time and made his apologies, but did he do this only so he can play again. I'm sorry but anyone that can treat animals the way he did has something wrong with them. I'm not sure he should be in the public eye and be a role model for our kids.
NFL Predictions and Michael Vick
It is expected to be a very interesting football year, full of possible redemption and maybe a great player playing past his prime. Real life intruded into the Football world and brought tragedy and drama over the summer. Most tragic, Former All pro quarterback,Steve McNair of the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens, lost his life in a senseless, murder suicide. It is a reminder that even in the most stratisfied air of professional football, the players are not immune to the everyday problems all of us encounter.Dante Stallworth, wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and suspended from the NFL for the entire 2009-2010 season. Plexico Buress, former wide receiver for the 2008 Champion Giants, shot his way out of the league and is getting prepared to spend significant time in prison for illegal gun possesion and other charges. Many others encountered problems. Pacman Jones finally wore out his welcome and Terrell Owens is hanging on by a thread now in Buffalo.Brett Farve has added more fire on the drama meter with his continuing retirement saga. Is he retired or is he not? Who is he playing for this year? The Packers, The Jets or...
Michael Vick
I don't understand whay all the distress and hate for Vick?! Ok, I get it, he was the money behind a dog fighting ring, its cruel, its ugly, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. However, there are guys playing in the NFL right now that have multiple arrests and convictions for drugs, assualt, manslaughter, etc. And Vick is the one causing the outrage? I dont get it! He killed dogs, (dispicable as it may be) it wasnt your grandma he killed in a drunk driving accident, leaving a strip club, with an 8 ball in his pocket! Can someone explain to me why he is worse than these guys?
Michael Vick's return to the NFL
How do you feel? Do you agree? Are you angry about it? Do you think it's possible for Vick to redeem himself? Has he paid his debt to society? I know this is a painful and emotional subject for many; let's try to be respectful on this one.
Let's Get Real About Michael Vick..................
Beofre, I begin this discussion I will say that I disagree 100% with the involvement that Michael Vick had in the dog fighting ring. I think it is horrible to treat an animal that way.......now comes the big HOWEVER.... The attitude of some that believe he should not return to the NFL is equally horrible. Let's get real for a second.....Dog Fighting rings are not a new thing, neither is chicken fighting. In East TX 8 were arrested and 22 more were arrested in Illonois and Missouri, some 200 dogs were involved. These people, if convicted in a court of law will serve their time in jail for these crimes. Micheal Vick has served his time!!!!! Had Michael Vick not been the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons he would not have been demonized in the media. Also, Michael Vick was not the only person involved here, let's remember that his realtives and friends also owned a huge stake in the responsibility for the crimes, but MV served the majority, if not all of the time in jail. He had the most to loose and he was the bigger media story!! I question how involved he really was while at practice, on the field and traveling between state to state city to city.... If all were equal, the...
Michael Vick is allowed to return to NFL???
Ok, I said it,,it has be said,,Michael Vick, the scum bag football player who enjoyed the "sport" of dog fighting has been released from prison after 2 years and is now being picked up to play football again..I don't know what the general concensus on this subject is so I ask you..Do you think he should be given this privledge again? I DONT..What he did is unspeakable and sickening. Anyone who would do this to dogs is a ruthless coward. I don't think that his statement "I've paid my debt to society" is showing any remorse for his actions, and his pre trial statement"Dogs were ment to fight" is worse..I don't know, maybe the football field is the best place for him where Bigger Bullies can painfully abuse him..I think his sentence was to light and I think the NFL needs their heads examined..Any thoughts?
How Welcome Should We Make Michael Vick?
Michael Vick is out of jail, allegedly rehabilitated and has just signed up with the Philadelphia Eagles. He's coming to my area!Like most people here in the Philly environs, I'm a huge animal lover. Admittedly I'm not much of an Eagles fan although I would like to see them win for a change. For many who are rabid Eagles fans and animal lovers, Vick presents a dilemna. This is an area known for animal activists like Bill Smith and our idea of a sports hero is Chase Utley who, along with his wife, has raised thousands for animal rights causes. Now, we get Vick dumped on us! I'd be a liar if I said I was thrilled. He says he's rehabilitated: I say prove it. I'll be watching for that proof along with thousands of the other animal lovers in the area. How would you feel about having this guy on a team in your area?
Should NFL QB Michael Vick Be Given A Second Chance?
Michael Vick, more than a year ago, was sent to prison on a conviction of dog fighting. Evidence in the Michael Vick case showed that he was running a dog fighting operation in the backyard of one of his houses. There, they found dog cages, a dog fighting ring, among other things. Testimony from some of his friends provided information of Vick's involvement with training dogs to fight, financing the whole operation, killing dogs whom were no longer able to fight by drowning them, shocking them with electricity, and other brutal things. Consequently, he lost his endorsement, his big money contract, was released by the Atlanta Falcons, and was sent to prison. Recently, Vick signed a 2-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, after he was partially reinstated by the NFL Commissioner. With all this being said, should he get a second chance at playing football? I say yes he should. Why? It's simple, everybody deserves a second chance. It shouldn't matter who he or she is as long as he or she is sincerely sorry for what he or she did. Granted, I don't know how sincerely sorry he is, but he still deserve an opportunity to redeem himself. While I don't lie what he did, some of the...
