Since Norv Turner took off and went south to San Diego, the 49ers have had a revolving door at the Offensive Coordinator position. It's no wonder young QB Alex Smith never developed. Not to mention, his receive coor changed every year. This year they've added another new receiver, Brandon Jones.Last year it was Isaac Bruce and Bryant Johnson. Before that Antonio Bryant and others before that. He once told me about a t-shirt he saw... apparently Joe was sidelined with some sort of back problem, then had surgery, then came back to play again. A t-shirt commemorating this had on the back an image of a virtacle scar (i.e., back surgery) and the words "Joe's Back!" This was many years ago, of course. My hubby has always regretted not finding & buying one of those shirts.
