Talk about NFL highlights and disasters.
Who Needs Michael Vick? We've Got Ahman Green!
With the disgusting story of Michael Vick fresh on our minds, how about this. When Ahman Green, formerly with the Green Bay Packers, signed as a free agent with the Houston Texans he wanted jersey #30. But Jason Simmons had worn that jersey since the Texans began. They made a deal. It would cost Green $25,000 to be used to help someone. The two players decided to use it to help someone buy a house. Yesterday the deal was done. A single mother with a 7 year old autistic son was given the help to buy a home for her and her son.Even team owner Bob McNair helped with an additional $25,000. Regina Foster was picked from 5 finalists who had agreed to put $1500 toward the downpayment and contribute 100 hours of community service. Funny thing is, she said she knew nothing about football and was not a Texan fan, but "I am now" she said. She told the players that she would dedicate her son's room to the Texans. So Green told her that the team would donate Texans gear for it. Now isn't this a better story?
Packers sign Walter, place Blackmon on injured reserve
The Green Bay Packers signed offensive lineman Tyson Walter on Saturday and placed cornerback Will Blackmon on injured reserve. Walter, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound tackle and guard from Ohio State, was chosen in the sixth round of the 2002 draft by Dallas. He played in 40 games for the Cowboys, nine as a starter. The Houston Texans picked up Walter in 2005 after Dallas waived him but never played for them. He signed with Washington as an unrestricted free agent on March 24, 2006, appearing in two games before being waived Oct. 23. Blackmon was selected by Green Bay in the fourth round of this year's draft. He played in four games before sustaining a rib injury on Nov. 12 at Minnesota.to the Texans. So Green told her that the team would donate Texans gear for it. Now isn't this a better story?
Career of Brett Favre of Green Bay Packers
I have been watching the on going saga of Brett Favre's career. I have enjoyed every minute I have watched him play for the Green Bay Packers. I hated to see him say he was retiring in March, although I knew some day it would come to that. He is 38,but still able to play. I think he was sort of forced into retirement.Brett has decided he really wants to still play. Green Bay is making it hard for him. He realizes he probably has lost starting quarterback position and he said in the interview last night with Greta on Fox that he understands that. But he doesn't understand why they won't either let him come back and play or release him to play for other teams. I guess it's a catch 22 - they have another quarterback that is younger that they want playing for them and they know, if they release him from his contract, somebody out there is going to pick him up and they will more than likely be meeting their former quarterback on the other side of the field one day. And they definitely do not want that. Either he is capable of winning or he isn't. What are they afraid of? You would think, if they thought he was still capable of winning, they...
green bay packers
what do you think of the green bay packers they are my fav team they have been forever
Koren Robinson, Green Bay Packers WR, has been reinstated by the NFL today
I would like to get everybody's feelings regarding Koren Robinson being reinstated by the NFL today, after serving a one year suspension from the league, as well as jail time. It is my opinion that Koren has served his time and is justified in being given another chance by the league. According to everything that I have read, Koren appears to be a person of good character, who has at times in his life, made some bad decisions. Should he violate the substance abuse policy one more time, he would face a life time ban from the NFL. Please let me know what your stance is on this subject. If you feel differently, please explain why. There have been several NFL players in the news in the past few months for various incidents.
What do you think of the Green Bay Packers?
Did you watch them today? What is your opinion on Bret Farve? I think he should not have come back we need new blood.
Packers beat the 49ers!
It was an ugly win but we will take it anyway we can! The Packers looked really good in the 1st half and then got conservative in the second half! The 49ers looked bad in the 1st half and much better in the second half! The Packers defense come up big with the Nick Collins interception which lead to use to are last score! I'm happy once again! Go Pack!
Bring Brett Favre back?
I am a huge fan of Brett Favre and think the team should spend some money on a line to protect him and see what he can do. What do you think?
What's your favorite sport/sports team and Why???
I was just wondering what everyones favorite sport is and what there favorite sports team is and why? Personally I am a big fan of american football. My favorite team is the Green Bay Packers because I am from Wisconsin and grew up watching them play. Thanks for all the responses in advance.
Vikings vs. Packers
Today was the day that Brett Favre and Packers fans have been talking about for weeks. The first matchup between The Packers and Brett Favre in Green Bay since Favre signed a contract with Minnesota, and became their starting quarterback. If you know me at all, you know that I'm a die hard Cowboys fan, so there's no love in my house for the Packers anyway, but what I saw from a huge majority of their fans today really turned me off of Packer football, and would have probably caused me to change allegiance, had I been a Green Bay follower. When Brett Favre ran onto the Lambaugh field for the first time today, he was booed by fans who two short years ago thought he was God's gift to football. I have to say, I thought it was horrible sportsmanship, and just bad manners! If Green Bay had simply released Favre to play for the Vikings last year, there would never have been the farce of him playing for New York and then having to announce his retirement, and then coming out of retirement. Personally, I'm glad to see the old man still playing. It gives me hope that I can continue to do things that the world thinks I'm too old to do!So what are your thoughts? Not on the...
