Talk about NFL highlights and disasters. | | NFL Receiver Matt Jones Has a New Home, Cincinnati | | Matt Jones played quarterback for the University of Arkansas, but when he entered the NFL, after being selected in the first round by Jacksonville, he was moved to wide receiver, because of his size and speed.Jones would eventually begin to play like an NFL receiver, but a drug arrest would end his time with the Jaguars. After not playing last year, Matt Jones has another chance, one given to him by, the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are the home of second chances. Jones owes his new job to the untimely death of Chris Henry, another receiver given a second chance by the Bengals.Matt Jones has all the physical skills to be a productive receiver for Carson Palmer, as long as he can stay on the field and out of trouble.
| | Anyone worried about Carson Palmer's arm? | | What do you think? He was suited up yesterday to play 3rd string quarterback if he was needed. How serious do you think it is? He seemed to be moving it fine yesterday, of cause bending it to put on a hat is alot different then throwing pass after pass after pass, not to mention with the lack of protection from the offensive line, he could get knocked around again and get it hurt worse. Do you think the Bengals organization is down playing the injury or that it's not that serious. A few of the pre game shows were mentioning he might need surgery. HOw do you think that will affect the rest of the season? I don't think Fitzpatrick will be able to knock them off thier 0-4 losing streak. Do you think they should give Carson's little brother a try and have him start a game? I haven't seen him throw so I am curious to see if he's as good as his big brother or not. | |
| | What happened to the Bengals? | | 0-4? What is going on with this team? Defense is doing a good job this year, but the offense has completely lost their rythm. The three musketeers ( Carson, Chad and TJ) have looked totally out of sync this year. The offensive line has provided Palmer with absolutely no protection at all and he's been battered since the season started. Does anyone think it's time for Marvin Lewis to be replaced? I like Lewis, but since he's taken over his defense has ranked low on the totem pole, even though he was a defensive genius at Baltimore, and the team has gone progressively down hill the last few seasons. What do you all think? | |
| | Do you think the off the field problems prevented a good season? | | 8 Cincinnati Bengal players where arrested in the 2006-2007 season. Many people think this affected the team as a whole and prevented the team from making the playoffs. If the off the field trouble would not have happened would the team have a better record and be in the playoffs?

| | nfl playoff outlook! | | The final week of the NFL has finished and we have seen many matches that will be repeated this upcoming Saturday and Sunday. This is my breakdown and prediction for the first playoffs games. New York Jets at Cincinnati BengalsWe saw these two teams clash on Sunday Night Football and I must say the outcome was suprising. A 37-0 shutout victory by the Jets helping them clinch a playoff birth. However, I fear that next week will be much different for the Jets. The Bengals didn't have anything to play for and were bound to play a first round matchup since San Diego and Indy already had the first two spots earning them the bye week. I think next week the game is much more competetive which will earn the Bengals a trip to the next round with a 27-24 victory over the Jets.Baltimore at New EnglandIf you look at the statistics on paper, offensively the Patriots are a superior team. Lets face it they have Tom Brady and Randy Moss along with a running game that can finally compliment them a bit. Defensively, well the Ravens have the advantage. They have veteran guys unlike the Patriots who have at times struggled defensively against teams including this past week when they... | |

| | Bengals can't dwell on first shutout in 17 years | | CINCINNATI (AP) -- Suddenly, the Cincinnati Bengals are back in the middle of the playoff chase, revived by one of the rarest of accomplishments. The NFL's worst defense produced a shutout.
The Bengals pulled off their first shutout in 17 years on Sunday, a 30-0 victory in Cleveland -- the last team they blanked -- that left them with newfound confidence heading into their biggest game of the season. Cincinnati (6-5) plays at home Thursday night against Baltimore (9-2), which can take the AFC North championship with a win. "For the defense, with a lot of guys playing in positions they're not used to playing, to get four turnovers and a big shutout is huge for us, for momentum and confidence, going into another big division game this week," quarterback Carson Palmer said. Holding an opponent's offense to average numbers has been a noteworthy accomplishment for Cincinnati's defense, which ranked last in the league in yards allowed heading into the game in Cleveland. The Bengals gave up 42 points in the second half of a 49-41 loss to San Diego, then nearly 600 yards in a 31-16 win in New Orleans. In those two games, the defense seemed to be starting...
| | Browns' Edwards: 'I shouldn't have blew up.' | | BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- Braylon Edwards walked into Cleveland's locker room nattily dressed in a dark, pinstriped sports coat instead of the usual sweats and sneakers he would normally wear the day after a game. He looked and acted cool Monday. On Sunday, he was anything but. An embarrassed Edwards blamed "my passion for the game" for his showy sideline tantrum during the third quarter of Cleveland's 30-0 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, a Terrell Owens-like display for the cocky second-year wide receiver. Following an interception by Browns quarterback Charlie Frye, an enraged Edwards lost his composure after leaving the field. He exchanged words with Frye and even grabbed the QB's jersey as other teammates tried to settle him down as he angrily stormed around.
Edwards, who didn't speak to the media following the game, never directly apologized for his actions but he clearly regretted what happened. "I don't feel like I embarrassed my teammates," he said. "I embarrassed myself to some extent. That's not my character. That's not me. Nobody knows me as that type of guy. I've always been the clean cut, quiet, well-spoken guy, so that wasn't me. I...
